Luxury Nyerere Wilderness Escape
Offered by - Go Extra Mile Safaris
Tour Features
Nyerere National Park, formerly part of the vast Selous Game Reserve, is Tanzania’s largest national park and one of Africa’s most pristine wilderness areas. Covering over 30,000 square kilometers, it is a haven for diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, and the rare African wild dog. The mighty Rufiji River winds through the park, creating a network of channels, lakes, and swamps that attract an incredible array of birds and aquatic life. Unlike more crowded safari destinations, Nyerere offers a truly remote and authentic experience, with opportunities for classic game drives, boat safaris, and guided walking safaris. Its varied landscapes — from open savannahs and woodlands to riverine forests — make it an ideal destination for travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path safari adventure in Tanzania.
