Game drives are rewarding and as an introductory destination to Kenya Safari, you'll get a glimpse of the history of Kenya's Safari. A typical game drive will give you an opportunity to spot the Forest Elephants, Bongo, Buffaloes and hyenas. Dotting this lake and surrounding areas, steamy hot springs enhance the already dreamlike atmosphere. Now add in the sight of numerous bubbling geysers erupting along the banks and from within the lake itself. Explore the lake on foot, glimpsing at the many geysers. The birdlife here is wonderful, so keep an eye on some rare species. Breakfast is included, with lunch always served at the lodge. Later in the evening, you'll be transferred back to the lodge for dinner and accommodation.

Begin each day with a thrilling 4x4 game drive in the reserve. The pièce de résistance being top sightings include the river crossings when the wildebeest have to navigate their way past giant crocodiles lying in wait in the water. Such is the abundance of wildlife here that visitors can expect great game viewing at any time of year. You can opt to have your lunch inside the park while on your game drive. You can also opt for a Maasai Village Visit to have a taste of their culture including participating in their dances, drinking milk mixed with blood, making fire from hardwood and softwood and while at it, having a chance to buy their artefacts.

Getting There

Tourists can visit these safari locations once in Kenya and can show up via air, land or ocean, however, flights are the most favoured mode of transport. Kenya is a huge nation and while you can go via vehicle on a safari circuit, getting between the various regions is better on a booked flight.
Kenya's main airport is Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), located 15km/9mi southeast of Nairobi. Kenya's second international Airport is Moi International Airport (MBA), located 9km/6mi west of Mombasa, but aside from flights to Zanzibar, this is primarily used for domestic and charter flights.
From Nairobi or Mombasa, one can fly or drive between reserves, or opt to do a bit of both. Most domestic flights out of Nairobi depart from Wilson Airport (WIL), 6km/4mi south of Nairobi.
