  • Day Day 1 - Transfer to Akagera National aprk.
    Our representative will pick from Sheraton hotel in Kigali at 800am and kick start your journey to Akagera park where you will spend your two nights at excellent lodge. The journey from kigali to the park take you about 2-3hours drive reaching in time for lunch, you will check in and later start with short game drive. Reatreat from this activity back to your lodge for relaxation.

  • Day Day 2 - Game drive and boat cruise in the afternoon
    After your early morning breakfast you will kick start your game drive with in open roof safari vehicle for game viewing. You will expect to see creatures like hippos, elephants, impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and waterbucks among others. You will later proceed to lodge for your hot lunch. After your hearty lunch embark on drive to the starting point for the boat cruise. After a successful boat, you will do game drive again as you head back to your lodge for relaxation

  • Day Day 3 - Transfer to Volcanoes national park
    Today morning after your breakfast, you will drive through park as you head out to kick start your journey to volcanoes national park via kigali city. You will have lunch on route reaching in the late evening for relaxation. You may choose to take a short walk around your lodge or visit community incase you like it or choose to stay at your lodge.

  • Day Day 4 - Gorilla trekking in the volcanoes national park
    Today morning with your packed lunch at 7am, you will assemble at park offices for registration before anything. Your gorilla trekking experience will begin in the morning with a heavy breakfast and then you will drive to the park headquarters where you will meet the Park ranger guide who will first take you through a briefing about the dos and don'ts while tracking and then he will lead you to the forest to trek for these endangered mountain gorillas. Mountain gorilla trekking lasts from an hour to 8hours depending on where the gorilla family will be spotted because they keep moving to look for food. It will not bore you as you will be enjoying the calls of the birds and watching over primates as you search for the endangered mountain gorillas. After a successful trek head back at your lodge for relaxation.

  • Day Day 5 - Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali
    Today morning you will Start the day with a mouthwatering breakfast at the lodge, and then drive to the park headquarters with all of your luggage and trekking gear for a pre-trek briefing. The knowledgeable ranger guides will go over the dos and don'ts of trekking and then accompany them on an experience that will last anywhere from one to seven hours, depending on how far the golden monkey are foraging. Expect to see golden monkey, rare plant species like giant lobelia, birds, and more, among other things in the foothills of the volcanoes. After a successful trek, transfer to kigali city reaching in the early evening for drop off at your hotel.

Getting There

Kigali International Airport (KGL), on the outskirts of Kigali, would most likely be your point of entry point into the country. There are currently no direct flights from any North American city to Kigali. All require at least one stop, with most major cities, including New York, Toronto, Sao Paolo and Montreal only requiring one stop. Direct flights are available from Amsterdam and Brussels. There are also direct flights on Turkish Airlines, from Istanbul, and from Dubai on Rwanda Air. There are no direct flights from Doha and Qatar. Flights from major cities in Asia, such as Hong Kong and Singapore, also require one stop. Flights from Sydney, Australia presently require two stops.

Rwanda is quite tiny, and most people travel inside the country by car. Rwanda's speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour on all roads. Akagera Aviation, on the other hand, provides charter helicopter transfers to and from any place in the country.

  • Passports must have a clean and a full visa page for endorsement.
  • When arriving from a yellow-fever-infected country in Africa or the Americas a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.
  • As of January 2018, citizens of all countries are now eligible for visas on arrival at US$30 for 30 days. More details at www.migration.gov.rw
  • For people visiting Rwanda in conjunction with Kenya and/or Uganda, it is possible to buy a joint visa for all three countries with advance application. See www.migration.gov.rw for details.
