As the northern extension of the greater Serengeti Ecosystem, the Mara is famous for the seasonal migration of wildebeest, zebras, and their predators. You will arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive across the open plains.

The reserve is celebrated for its black-maned lions and remarkable wildlife density, making it one of the best places to spot the Big Five in a single day. Cheetahs are frequently seen and are notably relaxed, sometimes resting near vehicles or using them as shade while scanning for prey. For bird enthusiasts, the Mara is equally rewarding, with nearly 500 recorded species, including eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, storks, bustards such as the Kori bustard, and colorful sunbirds.

With 2,000-ft walls and a vast crater floor, this natural sanctuary hosts exceptional wildlife, including the rare black rhino, flamingos, forests, swamps, and open plains. Mineral-rich soils support large-tusked elephants. An optional afternoon walking safari in the highlands may be available.

You can also visit Tarangire instead of Manyara and we recommend it from June to September. Possibility to visit Oldonyo Sambu Maasai Village on the way to Manyara/Tarangire.
