The entrance gate of Arusha National Park leads into the forest of inhabited blue monkeys and colourful turacos and trogon — the only place on the northern safari circuit where the acrobatic black-and-white colobus monkey are easily seen. In the midst of the forest stands the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater, whose steep rocky cliffs enclose a wide marshy floor dotted with herds of buffalo and warthog. While in Arusha National Park, you will be able to enjoy the view of Mount Meru by walking close to it for about 2 to 3 hours with armed ranger who will be accompanying you throughout. Although elephants are uncommon in Arusha National Park, and lions are absent altogether, leopards, spotted hyenas, giraffe, buffalo and many other animals may be seen. In the evening, you will be transferred back to Arusha.

You'll also encounter migratory wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, hartebeests, and elands. Tarangire offers the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem, making it a prime hunting ground for predators. It's one of the few places in Tanzania where you can regularly spot dry-country antelope, such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and the unique long-necked gerenuk. After a full day of game drives, you will be transferred to your booked lodge in the evening for dinner, a warm shower, and your overnight stay.
