Overview
Yangudi Rassa National Park is a little-known and rarely visited protected area located in northeastern Ethiopia, within the Afar Region. The park is dominated by arid and semi-arid landscapes, volcanic plains, acacia scrub, and seasonal river systems that reflect the harsh beauty of the Afar lowlands. Yangudi Rassa was established primarily to protect dryland wildlife and historically supported populations of African wild ass and other desert-adapted species. Due to its remoteness and challenging climate, the park remains largely undeveloped and is suited mainly for conservation interest and exploratory travel rather than traditional safari tourism.
