The journey begins with a scenic drive from Moshi town to Materuni Village, located approximately 15 kilometers from Moshi at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. As you ascend through coffee plantations and rural villages, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and, on clear days, magnificent views of Africa's highest mountain.
Materuni Village is one of the last authentic Chagga villages in the region and serves as the gateway to the famous Materuni Waterfalls. The area is rich in biodiversity, fertile farmland, and cultural heritage, making it one of the most popular day trips in northern Tanzania.
