  • Day 1 - Arusha to Tarangire National Park
We will pick you up from your hotel and after meeting the guide, chef, and the other clients, we will drive to Tarangire National Park (2-hr drive), which is famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for its abundance of ancient baobab trees and having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country. It provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park depending on where they have reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetahs, and leopards - as they are harder to spot). The herbivores like giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, etc. are plenty to see throughout the park. After lunch, we will proceed with the game drive and exit the park at around 4:30 pm when we will head to our campsite accommodation for dinner and sleep.

    Main Destination: Tarangire National Park

    Accommodation: Ndegere Lodge and Camps

Meals & Drinks: Lunch & Dinner Included

  • Day 2 - Mto wa mbu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive from Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti which takes about 6 hours (including all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We'll stop at the Ngorongoro Crater in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha region, and will also have a brief stop at the gate and viewpoint to look at the breathtaking view of the crater (20 minutes). Go on an optional visit to a Maasai village to visit and explore the culture of the great Maasai community known for hunting and killing lions to be considered a warrior, and drinking raw animal blood. These traditions, though, are a thing of the past. Arrive in the late afternoon and do a game drive in Seronera (center of Serengeti) until the late evening. Experience the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals. If you're lucky, you may see a predator hunting or on a kill. Later, head to the Seronera Campsite.

    Main Destination: Serengeti National Park

    Accommodation: Nyani Campsite

Meals & Drinks: All Meals Included

  • Day 3 - Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Highland
After an early breakfast, we will go on a morning game drive to spot the many animals. In the afternoon, we will head to the camp for lunch and to pack. We'll do a game drive while we exit the Serengeti. We'll head to Simba Campsite (2-hr drive) which is located near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. You'll be able to spot animals from the campsite.

    Main Destination: Serengeti National Park

    Accommodation: Simba Campsite A

Meals & Drinks: All Meals Included

  • Day 4 - The Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, we will descend the crater on a journey to find the black rhino. Rhinos are the hardest animals to spot in the beautiful crater due to it being a floor crater. After lunch, we will do a game drive and then ascend the crater to return to the camp. We'll pack for the trip to Camp near Lake Manyara National Park.

    Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater

    Accommodation: Twiga Campsite & Lodge

Meals & Drinks: All Meals Included

  • Day 5 - Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we will go to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for the large number of flamingoes in the lake and its tree-climbing lions (though they are rarely seen). We will do a game drive viewing plenty of birds. If you're lucky, you will spot the famous tree-climbing lions. Visit the hippo pool for a close look at the hippos as well as the hot springs. While doing the game drive, you'll view plenty of animals like buffaloes, wildebeests, warthogs, vultures, eagles, monkeys, etc.

Main Destination: Lake Manyara National Park

    Accommodation: Jevas Encore Hotel

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast & Lunch Included

  • Day 6 - Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee tour
Today, you will visit the waterfalls which are a walk of around 40 minutes. On the way, your guide will inform you about the culture of the Chagga, their village life and explain the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim, so don‘t forget your swimwear! After having enjoyed the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Materuni village where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer – definitely not to be missed! The coffee tour is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances – a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Before you say goodbye, you can savor the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest.

A lot of planning and preparation goes into a successful safari – many moving parts are set into motion through the efforts of many skilled people – but the key cog is the safari guide. It is a rare person who can combine the skills of the naturalist, the mechanic, the driver, the anthropologist, the teacher, and the hotel concierge. Yet all of that is precisely what our experienced guides have delivered to thousands of safari travelers over the years. Cheerfully. On average, our guides have 12 years of experience leading safari travelers. Our most experienced guides train our newer guides. All are certified and receive ongoing training and education. All understand what it means to be a member of the Ocelots Safaris family and the exceptional attention with which they must attend to our client’s expectations.
