  • Day 1 - Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
    Embark on an enchanting journey from the vibrant city of Dar es Salaam to the serene wilderness of Mikumi National Park, where Tanzania's natural beauty unfolds with every mile. Leaving behind the city's noises, the road winds through rural landscapes adorned with bustling markets and friendly villagers. Our passionate guide shares tales of local life, adding depth to the passing scenery of maize fields and mango orchards. Entering Mikumi National Park feels like stepping into a different world. The gates open to reveal vast savannahs and acacia-dotted plains. Nestled in this natural haven, your lodge combines comfort with eco-friendliness. (distance approx. 182 km/ 4 hrs)

  • Day 2 - Game drive and Cultural Village Tour
    Early in the morning, explore the varied terrain of the park, which includes a floodplain, the ‘little Serengeti,’ and hippo pools where the enormous creatures wallow in thick mud. Mikumi National Park is on the northern border of Africa’s largest game reserve, the Selous, part of a sprawling wilderness area that reaches almost to the Indian Ocean. Visitors to Mikumi National Park occasionally spot rare tree-climbing lions, and other resident animals include eland, impala, kudu, black antelope, baboons, and wildebeests. In Mikumi, expect to see animals such as Lions, Buffalos, giraffes, Wildebeest, Zebras, Impalas, Warthogs, elephants, hippos, more than 300 bird species, and different plant species. Take a captivating cultural village tour at Mikumi, where you will learn about Tanzanian communities' rich traditions and lifestyles. Engage with friendly villagers who welcome you into their homes and are eager to share their customs, music, and traditional dances, which have been passed down through generations.

  • Day 3 - Mikumi to Lushoto
    Start with an adventure, driving from Mikumi to Lushoto in the Tanga region through the thrilling Tanzanian landscape. This tour offers a unique blend of immersive nature experiences, cultural encounters, and stunning panoramic views. Arrive and check in at any chosen accommodation facility, and then after, the guide will provide a briefing of the full program. (Distance approx. 400km/10 hrs)

  • Day 4 - Nature exploration in Magamba rainforest
    The approximate trekking distance coverage is 13 km/5/ 5-6hrs After breakfast, get picked up at the hotel, start walking with your packed lunch through the villages uphill to the Magamba rain forest, and overnight in Rangwi sister’s convent. This is the day of trekking through the natural forest, home of black and white Columbus monkeys, two-horned chameleons on the way, and a nice landscape, having lunch at Magamba village and then after work a little bit inside the forest and catching the public bus to Rangwi sister’s convent. Accommodation is basic and neat with shared toilets.

  • Day 5 - Mtae View Point and Cultural Exploration
    Approximate trekking distance coverage is 14 km / 6-7 hrs. Trekking through the villages to the pottery village for the workshop and along the escarpment of the mountains to Mtae – World class (The world-class viewpoint is because you will view about 180 degrees over the Tsavo in west Kenya and Kilimanjaro). On this day, get lunch with the Ernest family, well known for best serving lunch, after which the trekking proceeds to Mabughai, the pottery workshop. Visit the pottery workshop and learn how to make pots using clay soil. Keep hiking to the end through the escarpment of the Usambara Mountains while enjoying nice views of the plain. Check in at Magumba Cottages, which is one of the best accommodations in the mountains.

  • Day 6 - Departure
    Early in the morning, drive to Lushoto in the same morning (Driving distance 63km). Then continue departing to Dar es Salaam, Tanga, or opt for more adventurous safaris in Moshi or Arusha.
