Nyerere National Park is the largest protected game reserve on the African continent covers 54,600 square kilometers comprised of a vast wilderness. Mikumi NP is near Morogoro, Tanzania with an area of 3,230 km2 (1,250 sq mi) that was established in 1964, fourth largest in the country. The park is crossed by Tanzania's A-7 highway. The word "Udzungwa" comes from the word "Wadsungwa" referring to one of the native sub tribes of the "Hehe" people who once lived in the slopes of the mountains.

  • Day 1 - Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere NP) - An evening boat safari
    Early in the morning our driver will pick you up at your destination and depart to Selous Game Reserve with picnic lunch. Late afternoon, boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River, brings you into close contact with hippo, crocodile and fantastic birdlife. Crocodile glide into the water as your boat approaches and hippo appear in frightening proximity, grunting and blowing steam. Dinner and overnight will be at Mloka Safari Lodge (HB).

  • Day 2 - Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere NP) - A full day game drive
    You will have a full day in the Selous Game Reserve exploration of the Reserve by 4-wheel drive vehicle; will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of vast park. The Selous Game Reserve is the largest in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometers. Selous is famous for its elephants, commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bushbuck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras and greater kudus. Dinner and overnight at Mloka Safari Lodge (FB).

  • Day 3 - Mikumi National Park - A game Drive
    Morning drive to Mikumi for a game drive, a park is a home to various wild animals and birds species, not only that but also the park is endowed with spectacular concentration of wildlife which are rarely seen in other parks like magnificent Sable antelope, African hunting dog, blue wildebeest, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest and others. The gentle foothills and vast miombo woodland savanna in the southern parts of the park are quite spectacular. Dinner and overnight stay at TANAPA Bandas (FB).

  • Day 4 - Mikumi National Park - A full day game drive

  • Day 5 - Morning hike at Udzungwa Mountains - Later we drive back to
    Early in the morning after breakfast, go for a hiking at Udzungwa Mountains National Park, have a time to explore several view at the top of Sanje waterfalls peak on the mountain, later have your packed lunch, and continue with the hiking, and after finishing we drive back to Dar-es-salaam. (HB).

  • Visas can also be obtained on arrival but this is a lengthy process that can take one to two hours.
