- Day Day 1 - Kigali city Tour & Transfer to Lake Ruhondo for a boat ride9:00 AM: Pick up from your hotel by the tour driver. Start your Kigali tour with Kigali Genocide Memorial and Kimironko market. Explore the vibrant local life and take a short walk around the city. Lunch in Kigali at your own cost before setting off for Lake Burera. Transfer to Lake Burera 2-3 hours drive. Enjoy a scenic boat ride on Lake Ruhondo, soaking in the stunning landscapes. 6:00 PM: Check-in at your hotel and relax for the evening, preparing for the next day’s adventures.

- Day Day 2 - Gorilla trekking and transfer to Kigali6:00 AM: Have breakfast 6:30AM Depart from your hotel for Volcanoes National Park. 7:00 AM: Arrive at the park and check-in at the briefing center for the gorilla trekking experience. 8:00 AM: Begin the trek to find the mountain gorillas, guided by experienced rangers (the trek can take 2-6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location). 12:00 PM: After spending an unforgettable hour with the gorillas, trek back to the starting point. 1:00 PM: Enjoy a packed lunch or return to the park’s base for lunch. 3:00 PM: Transfer back to Kigali (approximately 2.5-3 hours). 6:00 PM: Arrive in Kigali, and check-in at your hotel or conclude your trip.

- Day Day 3 - Game drive and Boat ride at Akagera National Park5:30 AM: Depart from Kigali for Akagera National Park (approximately 2.5-3 hours). 8:30 AM: Arrive in Akagera and begin your morning game drive through the park, spotting wildlife like elephants, giraffes, zebras, and lions. 12:00 PM: Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park or at a designated spot. 1:30 PM: Head to Lake Ihema for a relaxing boat ride, where you'll see hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species. 3:30 PM: Continue exploring the park with an afternoon game drive. 6:00 PM: Check-in at your lodge in Akagera for the night, unwind, and prepare for the next day’s adventures.

Getting There
Kigali International Airport (KGL), on the outskirts of Kigali, would most likely be your point of entry point into the country. There are currently no direct flights from any North American city to Kigali. All require at least one stop, with most major cities, including New York, Toronto, Sao Paolo and Montreal only requiring one stop. Direct flights are available from Amsterdam and Brussels. There are also direct flights on Turkish Airlines, from Istanbul, and from Dubai on Rwanda Air. There are no direct flights from Doha and Qatar. Flights from major cities in Asia, such as Hong Kong and Singapore, also require one stop. Flights from Sydney, Australia presently require two stops.
Rwanda is quite tiny, and most people travel inside the country by car. Rwanda's speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour on all roads. Akagera Aviation, on the other hand, provides charter helicopter transfers to and from any place in the country.

- For people visiting Rwanda in conjunction with Kenya and/or Uganda, it is possible to buy a joint visa for all three countries with advance application. See www.migration.gov.rw for details.
