- Day 1 - Tuesday Windhoek – Halali, Etosha National Park – 500 kmYou will be picked up from your Windhoek accommodation at 07:00 and taken to Chameleon Headquarters for a brief pre-departure meeting. From there, we head north towards Etosha National Park, making a quick stop in Otjiwarongo for supplies and enjoying a light lunch pack while on the move. Etosha is a vast park spanning over 22,000 square km and boasting a diverse range of wildlife, including 114 mammal species, 350 bird species, and more. During our game drive through the park, we will visit various waterholes, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings. We aim to reach our overnight accommodation at Halali Camp before sunset, providing time to settle into our comfortable rooms with en-suite bathrooms and tea/coffee facilities. Halali's waterhole, called Moringa, is conveniently located near our accommodation and is floodlit for nighttime game viewing. It attracts a variety of species, including elephants and the critically endangered black rhino, making it a highly recommended evening visit.

After breakfast at Halali, we continue our game drive, focusing on visiting various waterholes, both natural and man-made, as they attract thirsty wildlife. Along the way, we'll also stop to admire the immense Etosha Pan, spanning over 4,700 square km of dazzling white mineral pan visible even from space. As the sun sets, we exit Etosha through the Anderson gate and reach our comfortable accommodation, featuring spacious twin share rooms with modern en-suite bathrooms. - Day 3 - Thursday Etosha – Swakopmund, Hotel A La Mer – 510 kmAfter breakfast, we depart at 07:30 for our scenic journey towards the Skeleton Coast. We head south through Outjo and then west, entering the captivating region of Damaraland. This area is renowned for its stunning landscapes, including mountains, grasslands, and unique pink granite koppies. Along the way, we have the opportunity to interact with locals from the Himba, Herero, and Damara tribes and support the local economy by purchasing their handmade souvenirs. Continuing our drive through the picturesque terrain, we stop for a light picnic lunch near the Brandberg mountain, the highest peak in Namibia. As we approach the chilly Atlantic Ocean, we reach the Skeleton Coast, characterized by its desolate mountains and barren beaches, notorious for shipwrecks caused by strong winds, waves, and dense fog. We make a stop to photograph a more recent shipwreck, the Zeila, which ran aground in 2008. Our final destination is Swakopmund, a coastal town with a rich history and charming German colonial architecture. Upon arrival, we check into the centrally located A La Mer hotel, providing easy access to explore the town on foot. Swakopmund offers a variety of excellent restaurants, and your guide will be happy to assist with recommendations and bookings.

- Day 4 - Friday Swakopmund – Walvis Bay – Swakopmund – Windhoek – 420Today, we have a relaxed start allowing for a leisurely breakfast and exploration of Swakopmund. The town offers a vibrant café culture, excellent bookshops, and enticing curio shops, perfect for a wander and some shopping. Alternatively, for those seeking more activity, our guide can accompany you on an excursion to Walvis Bay, a port town, and Dune 7, an impressive sand dune located just outside the town. Walvis Bay is renowned for its birdlife, particularly flamingos, which can be easily observed and photographed along the shore of the internationally recognized Ramsar site, Walvis Bay Lagoon. The lagoon's abundant phytoplankton and zoo plankton attract both lesser and greater flamingos. These fascinating birds are filter feeders, subsisting on microorganisms, and their distinctive pink coloration comes from consuming reddish-pink microorganisms. Although they do not breed in Walvis Bay due to unsuitable nesting conditions, large flocks of flamingos migrate to the seasonal Etosha Pan or the Makgadikgadi Pan in Botswana for breeding. In the early afternoon, we return to Swakopmund and then travel back to Windhoek via the main tar road. During the journey, we will have a light lunch, and upon reaching Windhoek, you will be dropped off at your accommodation within the city limits.
