The adventure normally begins in Amboseli National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The park offers open savannah landscapes that make wildlife viewing easy and rewarding. Visitors often encounter elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous bird species. The snow-capped backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro creates some of the most iconic safari photographs in Africa, especially during early morning and sunset game drives. Most domestic flights out of Nairobi depart from Wilson Airport (WIL), 6km/4mi south of Nairobi.
