Tour Features
Mount Meru, standing tall at 4,566 meters, is Tanzania’s second-highest peak and an ideal prelude for those planning to summit Kilimanjaro. Located within Arusha National Park, Meru offers some of the most spectacular landscapes and wildlife diversity of any Tanzanian mountain. Its slopes feature lush rainforests, open moorlands, volcanic ridges, and crater scenery, providing trekkers with breathtaking panoramas of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding plains. The trail is moderately challenging, with steep ascents and rocky ridges, making it excellent for high-altitude trekking experience and acclimatization. Along the way, hikers may encounter wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, Colobus monkeys, and even mountain reedbucks near the summit. The trek is perfect for those seeking a combination of adventure, wildlife, and mountain scenery in a compact 4-day itinerary. Expert guides, well-equipped camps, and structured support ensure a safe and rewarding climb, with opportunities for acclimatization treks and summit attempts at a pace tailored for success.
