  • Day 1 - Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, at 8:00 a.m., your guide will arrive at your hotel or the airport to pick you up and head towards Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch and wildlife viewing. As you leave the highlands, you’ll descend into the heart of wild Africa—the Serengeti National Park—where endless plains stretch as far as the eye can see. You’ll also make a brief stop at a viewpoint on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Among the many animals you may encounter are lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, giraffes, and more. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch inside the park. In the evening, you’ll arrive at your tented camp in the heart of the Serengeti. You’ll drive to your accommodation, where you can relax, enjoy dinner in beautiful surroundings, and retire to your well-appointed quarters.

You will enjoy an early breakfast and set off on a game drive around 6:30 a.m., spending 6-7 hours exploring the amazing Serengeti. This will be the highlight of your 5-day safari.

The Serengeti is home to abundant wildlife, including impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos. It’s especially famous for the great migrating herds: 250,000 zebras, 1.5 million wildebeest, and 500,000 antelopes. The animals’ migration is driven by rainfall and varies each year. Besides the migrating herds, you may also see predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions.

After an extensive game drive, you’ll return to the camp around 2:00 p.m. to relax, dine, swim, and relive the memories of the day.

  • Day 3 - Northern Serengeti National Park

This entire day is dedicated to game drives in the Serengeti. Home to abundant wildlife such as impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos, the Serengeti is especially famous for its vast migrating herds of zebras, antelopes, and wildebeest. The animals’ migration, driven by rainfall, varies each year.

From November to December, the herds move from the northern woodlands and hills to the southern grassy plains. During the longer rainy season, from April to June, they return north. Besides the migrating herds, you may also spot resident predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions.

  • Day 4 - Central Serengeti National Park

After a hearty breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive in the Central Serengeti.

You’ll explore the diverse habitats of this iconic park, including the renowned short grass plains. You’ll witness the awe-inspiring sight of massive herds of wildebeest and zebras. In January, during a brief period of about three weeks, the majority of the wildebeest give birth, with around half a million calves born in a remarkable synchronized birthing event.

The open grasslands offer little cover, but the young wildebeest can run within minutes of being born and are typically strong enough to keep up with the herd within three days.

Early risers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the rising sun over the crater’s edge before embarking on a journey to the Ngorongoro Crater after a hearty breakfast.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the Seven Wonders of Africa, was formed about three million years ago. It is 610 meters deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometers. With a dense animal population of approximately 25,000 ungulates, the crater offers the best wildlife viewing in all of Tanzania. Within minutes, you can see wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and some of the more than 500 bird species present.

With a bit of luck, you might even spot endangered black rhinos grazing in the grass. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the afternoon and travel back to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation or the airport.
