Tarangire National Park covers an area of 2,600 square kilometers and boasts a stunning landscape of open plains scattered with thousands of baobab trees. The park is located approximately 120 kilometers south of Arusha and is known for its lions and large herds of buffalo. It is a hidden gem in Africa that should not be missed by those who love wilderness and solitude. Other animals that can be found in the park include zebras, wildebeest, elephants, Maasai giraffes, and fringe-eared oryx (gemsbok). Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are also present. Lions hunt on the grassy shores of the lake, making it a beautiful sight for visitors. Most visitors plan their visit to Manyara to fit in with a trip to one of the Big Three parks such as Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro. After having breakfast, you'll collect your packed lunch and head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The tour will take you down 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater, which is more precisely a caldera.
