It is a hidden gem in Africa that should not be missed by those who love wilderness and solitude. Other animals that can be found in the park include zebras, wildebeest, elephants, Maasai giraffes, and fringe-eared oryx (gemsbok). Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are also present. This park is one of the most diverse national parks in Tanzania, which consists of a small (325km2) combination of a Rift Valley Lake, dense woodlands, and steep mountainside. Manyara is a birding paradise with over 380 species, especially for waterfowl and migrants. The forests in the park are one of the best places around to see leopards. Lions hunt on the grassy shores of the lake, making it a beautiful sight for visitors. Most visitors plan their visit to Manyara to fit in with a trip to one of the Big Three parks such as Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro. After the game drive, you can have dinner and spend the night at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge.

The tour will take you down 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater, which is more precisely a caldera. This enclosed ecosphere with an area of 304 square kilometers was formed some two or three million years ago in the massive explosion of a volcano that was once higher than Kilimanjaro. It offers the best wildlife- viewing opportunities in all of Tanzania. You will have the chance to explore the forest areas inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area where you may see flamingos, and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. With approximately 25,000 large mammals within the caldera, you will have the opportunity to see animals such as wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks, bushbucks, hartebeests, hippos, antelopes, both Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelles, in addition to the Big Five (elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, and leopard), as well as over 500 bird species. The Serengeti is one of Africa's largest parks, covering an area of 15,000 square kilometers. It's home to approximately three million large mammals and is made up of diverse landscapes. The southern region is dominated by lush grassy plains that attract around two million wildebeest, half a million zebras, and some quarter million antelopes to make the hazardous journey in search of pasture when autumn rains come.
