The 6-day Gorilla trek will start in Kigali on the first day and the second day will be spent in Nyungwe national park for canopy walk. The third day we will cross Rwanda-DRC border to trek lowland gorillas at Kahuzi-biega National Park in Bukavu. The fourth day, we will visit the Lwiro Primates sanctuary to learn how to feed them and rehabilitate them. On the fifth day, we will take a boat to Goma and go to visit Tchegera island. The last day we will cross border and get transferred to Kigali.

- Day 1 - Kigali international airport pick up and transfer to your hoUpon arrival at kigali international airport, you will meet our driver guide who is fluent in English and French to brief you about your tour in Rwanda and DRC. He will then transfer you to your hotel for check in and after, if you arrive in the morning time, you will proceed with Kigali city tour and visit Kigali Genocide memorial to learn about the Rwanda bloodiest Genocide and how it has been halted. - Day 2 - Transfer to Nyungwe National Park, canopy walkAfter an early breakfast, you will drive about 5hours towards Nyungwe National. You will reach Nyungwe in the afternoon and have your lunch. After lunch, you will go to experience the canopy walk around 2Pm. Later, we will drive about 1hour and stay at Emeraud Kivu resort. Overnight: Emeraud Kivu resort

- Day 3 - Lowland Gorilla trek and Bukavu city tourAfter your breakfast, you will go to trek Gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park. Trek usually requires 1-2.5 hours of hiking each way, depending on location of the gorilla group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain. After spending the allotted hour with the gorilla family group, you will make your way back to your hotel. After your lunch, in the afternoon you will proceed with Bukavu City tour. - Day 4 - Visit Lwiro Primates sancturyAfter your breakfast, we will visit Lwiro Primates rehabilitation center which is recognized as world heritage site in danger since 1997. The sanctuary takes care of 83 chimpanzees, 105 monkeys and 12 other species. It gives orphaned chimps a second chance of life while also ensuring to protect them the wild as well. You will not only visit them but you will participate in the conservation activities in the sanctuary. This activity will take a whole day and then later get transferred to your hotel. - Day 5 - Transfer to Goma, Tchegera IslandAfter your Early breakfast, you will embark to Goma with a rapid boat around 7h00 pm. Normally, a rapid boat takes 2 hours to reach Goma. Thereafter, you will get transferred to Tchegera island and stay in the midrange camp. Overnight: Tchegera midrange camp

- Day 6 - Transfer to Rwanda, canoeing and fly back to your homeAfter your breakfast at Tchegera and taking photos for your memories, you will get transferred to Goma and cross DRC-Rwanda border to drive about 2 hours towards the north province and home to Gorillas. In route activity, you will experience canoeing in Mukungwa River, a river that is nearby the volcanoes before you continue your way to Kigali to fly back to your home.

There are currently no direct flights from any North American city to Kigali. All require at least one stop, with most major cities, including New York, Toronto, Sao Paolo and Montreal only requiring one stop. Direct flights are available from Amsterdam and Brussels. There are also direct flights on Turkish Airlines, from Istanbul, and from Dubai on Rwanda Air. There are no direct flights from Doha and Qatar. Flights from major cities in Asia, such as Hong Kong and Singapore, also require one stop. Flights from Sydney, Australia presently require two stops.
Rwanda is quite tiny, and most people travel inside the country by car. Rwanda's speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour on all roads. Akagera Aviation, on the other hand, provides charter helicopter transfers to and from any place in the country.

- For people visiting Rwanda in conjunction with Kenya and/or Uganda, it is possible to buy a joint visa for all three countries with advance application. See www.migration.gov.rw for details.
