  • Day 2 - Kigali - city tour.

    Day 2: Kigali - city tour.

    After breakfast, start with a visit to the Genocide Memorial site, Learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to the 1994 genocide and how Rwanda has dealt with that past. Afternoon drive to Musanze (formerly called Ruhengeri) in the northwest part of Rwanda, the main base town for Gorilla trekking. The drive is through beautiful rolling hills on a comfortable paved road and is approximately 3 hours from Kigali.

  • Day 3 - Gorilla Trekking.

    Day 3:  Gorilla Trekking.

    After your morning wake-up call and breakfast, transfer by road and report to the park headquarters, for gorilla trekking formalities and briefing by the Volcanoes National Park’s guides on the gorillas’ etiquette. After locating your assigned Gorilla group you will spend one hour in their company before retracing your steps back down the volcano slopes.   • Day 4 - Golden Monkeys trekking

    Day 4: Golden Monkeys trekking

    After breakfast, transfer to the Park headquarters for Golden monkeys these rare species are also listed as endangered and Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkeys’ troops that are available for visiting by tourists in the park, They are very active creatures, and jump from tree to tree which is interesting and a little difficult to photograph. Afternoon travel back to kigali

  • Day 5 - Nyamirambo women center - Fazenda Sengha

    Day 5: Nyamirambo women center - Fazenda Sengha 

    After breakfast you will head to nyamirambo to visit nyamirambo women center where you will be involved in many activities such as cooking traditional dishes, explore locally made crafts and support community artisans. After lunch, continue to Fazenda Sengha, located on the beautiful hills overlooking Kigali. Enjoy an exciting afternoon packed with adventure activities including:

    • Zip Line
    • Quad Bike Riding
    • Archery

    After this enjoyable day you will go back to your hotel

Getting There

Kigali International Airport (KGL), on the outskirts of Kigali, would most likely be your point of entry point into the country. There are currently no direct flights from any North American city to Kigali. All require at least one stop, with most major cities, including New York, Toronto, Sao Paolo and Montreal only requiring one stop. Direct flights are available from Amsterdam and Brussels. There are also direct flights on Turkish Airlines, from Istanbul, and from Dubai on Rwanda Air. There are no direct flights from Doha and Qatar. Flights from major cities in Asia, such as Hong Kong and Singapore, also require one stop. Flights from Sydney, Australia presently require two stops.

Rwanda is quite tiny, and most people travel inside the country by car. Rwanda's speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour on all roads. Akagera Aviation, on the other hand, provides charter helicopter transfers to and from any place in the country.

  • For people visiting Rwanda in conjunction with Kenya and/or Uganda, it is possible to buy a joint visa for all three countries with advance application. See www.migration.gov.rw for details.
