- Day 1 - : Arrival and Mikumi's PlainsYour adventure begins with a transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park The drive to Mikumi National Park takes approximately 4-5 hours, offering glimpses of rural Tanzanian life. Upon entering Mikumi, the vast Mkata Floodplain unfolds, a classic African savannah dotted with acacia trees. Check into your chosen lodge or tented camp, allowing time to settle in. A late afternoon game drive introduces you to Mikumi's resident wildlife. Expect to encounter large herds of buffalo, graceful giraffes browsing on acacia trees, and zebras grazing on the open plains. Keep an eye out for lions, often spotted lounging in the shade or stalking prey. As the sun sets, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant colors, creating a magical atmosphere.

- Day 2 - Exploring Mikumi's DiversityAn early start allows you to witness the park's awakening. Morning game drives offer excellent opportunities to spot predators, as they are most active during the cooler hours. Mikumi's diverse habitats include woodlands, riverine forests, and rocky outcrops, each supporting a unique array of wildlife. Consider a guided walking safari for a more intimate experience with the bush. This allows you to appreciate the smaller details of the ecosystem, such as animal tracks, birdlife, and plant life. During mid day, relax at your lodge, and enjoy the lodge facilities. In the afternoon another game drive will commence, and you will search for the wildlife that you have yet to see. Mikumi is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 400 recorded species.

- Day 3 - Journey to Ruaha's WildernessToday's journey takes you deeper into Tanzania's southern circuit, to the remote and wild Ruaha National Park. The drive is approximately 6-7 hours, traversing scenic landscapes. Enjoy a packed lunch en route. Upon arrival in Ruaha, you'll immediately sense the park's untamed character. Check into your accommodation, which may range from luxury lodges to rustic tented camps, all offering stunning views of the surrounding wilderness.

- Day 4 - Ruaha's Wildlife SpectacleRuaha is renowned for its large elephant populations, and you'll likely encounter these majestic creatures throughout the day. The park's namesake, the Great Ruaha River, is a lifeline for wildlife, attracting a variety of animals, including hippos, crocodiles, and waterbucks. Lions are abundant in Ruaha, and you may witness impressive prides engaged in hunting or territorial displays. Ruaha is also a stronghold for endangered African wild dogs, and sightings of these elusive predators are a highlight for many visitors. The landscapes of Ruaha are very beautiful, and contain many baobab trees.
