After breakfast, depart for the morning game drive in Central Serengeti with a picnic lunch. Proceed on the afternoon drive back to Arusha for drop-off to the airport A million wildebeest, each driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life - the great migration. A frenzied 3-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40-kilometer (25 miles) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north. They replenish the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000-kilometer (600 miles) pilgrimage begins again.
