Begin your Tanzania safari from Zanzibar with a morning flight to Arusha, where you will meet your experienced local safari guide and continue by private 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a game drive through the park, famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and diverse wildlife. Keep your eyes open for lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, monkeys, and many species of birds. After breakfast, drive to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive inside one of Tanzania's most remarkable wildlife areas. Descend into the crater and explore its grasslands, forests, lakes, and wetlands while searching for a wide variety of wildlife. The crater offers excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, flamingos, and, with some luck, the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing your game drive and later returning to Karatu for dinner and another overnight stay at Farm of Dreams Lodge.
