Exploring the waterways in a traditional dugout canoe (mokoro) is highly recommended and a truly unique experience. Gliding silently through clear waters that have been purified by the waterlilies, reeds, papyrus and Kalahari sand, gives guests an unparalleled perspective of the abundant wonders.

Arrival A transfer from the airport can be arranged for an extra cost. Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost. Have a small bag packed and ready before we pick you up from your accommodation and proceed to the Okavango Delta. You will only need a small amount of luggage for your stay in the delta. Here, you will meet your local mokoro poler who will also serve as your guide. The local mokoro community guides conduct this activity, accompanied by our chef. On our arrival, the camp assistant will put up camp under a canopy of trees. We'll have brunch and a siesta before high tea will be served. We then take a walk on the island. Travelling by mokoro is undeniably the best way to experience the Okavango Delta. You explore the waterways and take nature walks where you have the opportunity to track game and get an up-close feel of this unique environment. Here, the birdlife is spectacular. You are able to have a much more intense experience of the bush on foot, particularly of the flora and fauna that might go unnoticed. We camp wild at a remote campsite for 2 nights.

Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, also known as Gaborone Airport, is the main airport in Botswana. It is located 15 km from Gaborone, the capital.

In most cases, your tour operator will collect you from the airport and will arrange all further transportation.
