    Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive south toward Amboseli National Park, with the majestic snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro growing ever larger on the horizon with every mile. The anticipation builds as the landscape opens up into vast golden plains stretching toward the Tanzanian border. Arrive at your midrange camp in time for lunch and check-in before heading out on your first afternoon game drive across Amboseli's iconic open plains. With Kilimanjaro as your breathtaking backdrop, spot massive elephant herds moving gracefully through the swamps and open grasslands, lions resting in the shade, cheetahs scanning the horizon, and wildebeest and zebras grazing freely across the vast landscape. As the golden afternoon light fades and the mountain glows in shades of pink and orange at dusk, return to camp for a delicious dinner and overnight stay beneath a magnificent African sky.

Spend the morning tracking massive elephant herds, searching for predators on the prowl, and marvelling at the extraordinary birdlife that thrives in Amboseli's diverse wetland and savannah ecosystem. The sheer abundance and variety of wildlife in Amboseli never fails to astonish, and every game drive holds the promise of something truly extraordinary. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast and check-out before beginning the drive back to Nairobi, stopping for lunch en route and arriving in the city in the early afternoon, refreshed, inspired, and already longing to return to the shadow of Kilimanjaro.

Most domestic flights out of Nairobi depart from Wilson Airport (WIL), 6km/4mi south of Nairobi.
