You'll arrive in Botswana at Maun International Airport, the gateway to the country's best safari destinations. From here, it's a short internal flight to San Camp, a rustic safari camp located in the Makgadikgadi salt pans. After a long journey, relax with a sundowner at this luxury-tented game, then head out on an evening game drive and watch the sunset.

- Day Day 2-3 - Explore the Salt Pans
San Camp is located on the edge of the Nwetwe Pan in Botswana’s Makgadikgadi. The surroundings of this minimalist seven-tented camp offer sightings of red hartebeest, springbok and gemsbok, as well as 360-degree views of the gorgeous pristine salt pans. Explore the pans by quad bike, then treat yourself to a three-layer banana and caramel cake in the evening.

Next, leave Botswana's salt pans behind and head to the Okavango Delta, where you'll be staying at Chitabe Camp, located in a private concession in the Okavango Delta. You'll stay in one of the camp's spacious eight Meru tents; each tent has twin beds, en-suite facilities and both indoor and outdoor showers. Head out onto the deck for beautiful views of the floodplains.

- Day Day 5 & 6 - Explore the Okavango Delta
Look out for large predators on game drives, as well as nocturnal creatures such as civet, genet, bushbabies and owls. The region is also well-known for birdwatching. Notable bird species include the African hawk-eagle, ground hornbill, scarlet-chested sunbird, red-billed hornbill, gabar goshawk and red-billed francolin.

- Day Day 7 - Transfer to the West Side of the Okavango Delta
Today, you'll leave Chitabe Camp and the Chitabe Concession behind and move to a different part of the Okavango Delta, to Jao Concession and its Jacana Camp. You'll stay in one of the camp's five Meru-style tents, set in wild date palms and sycamore fig trees. Unwind after a day of wildlife-watching by the campfire and look up at the glittering stars.

Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, also known as Gaborone Airport, is the main airport in Botswana. It is located 15 km from Gaborone, the capital.For travellers, it is more common to fly into Maun Airport (MUB) and Kasana Airport (BBK). When combining a safari in Botswana with a visit to Victoria Falls, it is common to fly into Maun and depart from Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) in Zimbabwe or Livingstone Airport (LVI) in Zambia.Most visitors to Botswana will have a stopover in South Africa to pick up a direct flight from OR Tambo International Airport (JNB), Johannesburg or Cape Town International Airport (CPT).In most cases, your tour operator will collect you from the airport and will arrange all further transportation.
