    Welcome to Maun, the gateway to Botswana’s magnificent wilderness and the starting point of your safari adventure. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your lodge, where you can relax and settle in after your journey. The rest of the day is at leisure — explore the vibrant town of Maun, visit local craft markets, or simply unwind by the pool while taking in the tranquil surroundings.

  • Day 2 - Maun | Mokoro Excursion

    After breakfast, embark on a truly authentic mokoro excursion — a traditional dugout canoe trip through the tranquil channels of the Okavango Delta. Guided by a local poler, you’ll glide silently across crystal-clear waters surrounded by reeds, waterlilies, and abundant birdlife. This peaceful journey allows you to appreciate the delta’s unique ecosystem, where elephants, antelopes, and hippos roam freely.

    After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive to Moremi Game Reserve, one of Botswana’s most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries. Located on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta, Moremi combines permanent water channels with dry savannah landscapes, offering incredible wildlife diversity.

    Your experienced safari guide will lead you through prime game-viewing areas where you might encounter elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, and the endangered African wild dog. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the reserve surrounded by nature’s tranquility.

    Arrive in Nata in the afternoon and check in at your lodge. Later, take a guided excursion to explore the Makgadikgadi Pans, vast salt flats that create a surreal landscape. Witness the unique beauty of this area, spotting flamingos and other birdlife if in season, and enjoy the spectacular desert sunset.

Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, also known as Gaborone Airport, is the main airport in Botswana. It is located 15 km from Gaborone, the capital.
For travellers, it is more common to fly into Maun Airport (MUB) and Kasana Airport (BBK). When combining a safari in Botswana with a visit to Victoria Falls, it is common to fly into Maun and depart from Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) in Zimbabwe or Livingstone Airport (LVI) in Zambia.
Most visitors to Botswana will have a stopover in South Africa to pick up a direct flight from OR Tambo International Airport (JNB), Johannesburg or Cape Town International Airport (CPT).
In most cases, your tour operator will collect you from the airport and will arrange all further transportation.
