Serengeti, derived from the Maasai word “siringet” meaning “endless plains,” is a unique and world-renowned safari destination located in Tanzania, Africa. This vast ecosystem spans over 14,750 square kilometers and is home to an incredible array of wildlife, making it one of the most celebrated safari destinations on the continent.
The Serengeti, a renowned national park in Tanzania, is home to one of the world’s most remarkable natural events —the largest annual overland migration of mammals. This astounding phenomenon involves more than 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles (BBC Earth, 2019). These herbivores embark on a colossal journey that spans approximately 800 kilometers across the Serengeti plains in search of fresh grazing grounds.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a stunningly beautiful place, and it supports a vast variety of animals due to its year-round water supply and fodder. Some of the animals you can expect to see include herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, hippos, and giant African elephants.
