Kafue National Park Safari – 2 Nights / 3 Days Itinerary Destination: Kafue National Park Departure City: Lusaka Day 1: Transfer from Lusaka – Arrival and Sunset Cruise Your safari begins with a morning departure from Lusaka to Kafue National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive through rural Zambia as you head toward one of Africa’s largest and most diverse wildlife parks. Upon arrival, you will check in at a beautiful and comfortable lodge or safari camp located in the heart of the wilderness. After some time to relax and settle in, you will head out in the afternoon for a sunset boat cruise along the river. This relaxing activity offers great opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species while enjoying the spectacular African sunset. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp. Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Mini Mountain Hiking Start your day early with a sunrise game drive in Kafue National Park when wildlife is most active. During the drive, you may see elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and possibly predators such as lions or leopards. During the safari, you will enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, allowing you to relax and take in the beautiful natural surroundings

Getting There

Zambia's main airport is Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN), found 14km from the capital, Lusaka. From Lusaka, you can fly or drive between reserves. When your safari is joined with a visit to Victoria Falls, you will undoubtedly fly in or out of Livingstone Airport (LVI), right outside of Livingstone and near the falls. In most cases, your local tour administrator will orchestrate pick-up from the airport and arrange further transportation as a feature of your safari package.

Travel Requirements

  • All foreign visitors need a passport that is valid for at least six months
  • Passports must have minimum of three blank pages
  • Citizens from most nationalities do not require a visa and will get a 30-day entry permit on arrival.
  • When arriving from a country in Africa or the Americas where yellow fever is present, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.
  • If you are visiting Zambia and Zimbabwe, there is a joint visa for both countries available at all major ports of entry into Zambia and Zimbabwe.
