  • Day 1 - Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
Today you arrive very early in the morning, take breakfast then you shall be driven northwest towards Masindi town heading to the great Murchison Falls national park. Murchison falls National Park is Uganda’s largest national park and it is an open African savanna bisected by the mighty river Nile. It derives its name from Murchison Falls, where the world’s longest river detonates aggressively through a narrow fissure in the Rift Valley escarpment to thrust into a fizzing pool about 46m below. Wildlife populations have largely recovered from the poaching of the 1980s; in the lush savanna grassland to the north of the Nile, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and a variety of antelope are frequently seen on game drives, while lions are seen with increasing frequency. We shall have a stopover for a nature walk and lunch at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This Sanctuary is a project which saw the rebirth of the endangered white rhinos in Uganda. The nature walk provides you an opportunity to view the Rhinos at close quarters while they move freely in their natural habitat. After our lunch we shall proceed to Murchison Falls National Park where you check into your preferred lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
