This short and sweet safari offers a perfect glimpse into Tanzania’s rich wildlife. In just three days, you’ll explore the elephant-packed plains of Tarangire National Park and descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater – home to Africa’s Big Five. Ideal for travelers with limited time but a deep desire to experience nature at its best. Day 1 Depart Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds. Enjoy a full game drive with a picnic lunch, spotting lions, giraffes, zebras, and more along the Tarangire River. Later, drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 2.After an early breakfast, head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the crater – a natural wonder teeming with wildlife. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch near the hippo pool. Look out for rhinos, lions, buffalo, and flamingos in this unique ecosystem. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon. Day 3 Have a leisurely breakfast and check out of the lodge. Begin your journey back to Arusha with optional stops for souvenirs or cultural experiences. Tanzania’s main airport is Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) located 13km/8mi southwest of Dar es Salaam. The latter is the entry point for visitors to the southern parks.
Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is situated 46km/29mi east of Arusha, the gateway of Tanzania’s most popular Northern safari circuit.

- Passports must have a clean and a full visa page for endorsement.
- When arriving from a yellow-fever-infected country in Africa or the Americas a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.
- Citizens of most countries require a visa. A list of countries that don't need a visa is available.
- Visas are best obtained in advance through an official online visa-application portal (https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/), but they can also be obtained through your local Tanzania Embassy or High Commission.
- Visas can also be obtained on arrival but this is a lengthy process that can take one to two hours.
