- Day 1 - Windhoek to Swakopmund
After breakfast, depart Windhoek and drive west toward the coastal town of Swakopmund. Enjoy scenic views of Namibia’s central highlands and desert plains along the way, with opportunities for short photo stops. Arrive in Swakopmund in the afternoon, check in at your campsite, and settle in. Take some time to explore the charming town with its German colonial architecture, craft markets, and seaside promenade.

Rise early for a full day exploring the iconic Namib Desert. Visit Dune 45 and climb to the top for panoramic views of the vast red dunes. Continue to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, where the white clay pans and ancient camel-thorn trees create a striking contrast against the orange sands. In the afternoon, explore Sesriem Canyon and learn about its geological formations. Return to the campsite in the evening for relaxation under the desert sky.

Many people prefer self-drive because of Namibia's excellent roads and safety. In most cases, your local tour operator will arrange airport pickup and all additional transportation as part of the tour.
