  • Day 1 - Arrival in Arusha – Transfer to Tarangire National Park

    Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to Tarangire National Park, famous for its iconic baobab-studded landscapes and large elephant herds. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy light birding en route, spotting common savannah species such as the Yellow-collared Lovebird, Kori Bustard, and various sunbirds.

    Accommodation: Tarangire Safari Lodge – with WiFi.

  • Day 2 - Full Day in Tarangire National Park

    Spend the morning exploring Tarangire’s breathtaking wilderness, renowned for its abundance of large mammals and striking birdlife. Key highlights include flamingos at Tarangire River, African Pygmy Geese, and lanner falcons.

    Capture stunning wildlife photographs of elephants, lions, giraffes, and more. In the late afternoon, return to Arusha for an overnight stay.

  • Day 3 - Arusha Lark Plains & Same Village

    Travel north to the Arusha Lark Plains, a dry-country birding paradise. Enjoy guided bird walks in the plains, targeting rare and endemic species such as Sharpe’s Longclaw and Red-capped Lark. Continue to Same Village in the late afternoon, enjoying scenic views of the surrounding highlands.

  • Day 4 - Mkomazi National Park – West Usambara Mountains

    Start the day in Mkomazi National Park, a remote dry savannah home to unique species like the Rüppell’s Korhaan, Kirk’s Starling, and Spotted Creeper. Enjoy slow-paced birding and photography opportunities among majestic landscapes. 

    In the afternoon, ascend into the West Usambara Mountains, transitioning from arid plains to lush montane forests alive with endemic bird species.

  • Day 5-6 - West Usambara Mountains Birding

    These two days are dedicated to exploring the biodiverse West Usambara Mountains, recognized for its rare endemics and spectacular forest scenery. Highlights include:

    • Red-capped Forest Warbler

    The forests offer slow-paced birding with excellent photography conditions, as well as occasional sightings of forest antelopes and other small mammals.   • Day 7 - Return to Arusha – Departure
