The 4 days Uganda gorilla trekking and lake Bunyonyi safari will take you to Uganda’s best gorilla destination – Bwindi national park as well as Lake Bunyonyi both in south-western Uganda. You will trek for these gorillas and visit the Batwa community to explore their culture, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi on the third day of your 5 days Uganda gorilla and lake Bunyonyi to have a look at the 29 islands, each with great history and among others include the punishment island, Leprosy Island and many more. You will move back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator point where you will have an enroute lunch and picture moments.

  • Day 1 - Head to Bwindi impenetrable national park

    Welcome to the pearl of Africa, by our company representative who will take you through a briefing about this 4 days Bwindi gorillas and lake Bunyonyi tour and then drive you to the southwestern part of Uganda where the remaining number of gorillas live and in 7- 8hours you will already be at the booked lodge.

  • Day 2 - Gorilla trekking and cultural encounters in Batwa vil

    Gorilla trekking in Uganda starts with breakfast in the morning, and your driver guide will drive you to the park headquarters. You will then proceed to park ranger station where you attend a briefed exercise by rangers and later be led to Bwindi Forest to begin the search for mountain gorillas. Pass through lush forest, bamboo, vines which are intertwined together, and slippery trails in search of a lovely gorilla family. Once the allocated gorilla family is found, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence as you see them communicating, playing and breastfeeding their young babies. During this one hour, you will be also granted a chance to ask any questions about mountain gorillas and their lifestyle, cameras will also be at work in this one hour. Retreat back to the lodge for lunch and head for a cultural experience in the evening. Batwa were the first people to inhabit Bwindi Forest until 1991 when it was gazetted a national park by Uganda Wildlife Authority. They were shifted to the outer fringes of the park. They are among the shortest people in the whole world with a unique, virgin culture worth exploring, have a look at how they used to do practice their culture while staying in the forest like hunting, food gathering skills, making fire and their cultural practices. Return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.

  • Day 3 - Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Boat trip and island hoppi

    Be served with delicious breakfast, and embark on a road trip to the second deepest lake in Africa – Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern part between districts of Kisoro and Kabale near Uganda-Rwanda border. There are 29 islands that make up Lake Bunyonyi including Bucuranuka, Njuyera, Bwana, Punishment Island and Leprosy islands, etc. each of them has a very interesting piece of history. After checking in at the hotel for lunch, you will head for a boat cruise on this lake to reach various islands, enjoying the breathtaking moments, scenic views and look at the crayfish, otters and many little birds. Move back to the lodge to enjoy the rest of your evening along the islands as your take dinner.

  • Day 4 - Travel back to Kampala.

    Take breakfast, check out from the lodge and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe for photographic moments and then embark on your way to Entebbe airport for departure flight.

Getting There

From outside East Africa, Uganda can be easily accessed either by road or Air and mostly by Air to Entebbe International Airport (EBB). Water transport can also be used to travel in and around our destinations especially the ferry crossing from the Southern part of Murchison Falls National Park to the Northern part of Murchison Falls National Park. Flights to Uganda are cheapest during the rainy seasons from March to May and October to November. The best wildlife viewing months are June to September and December to February, when flights are likely to be more expensive.

  • When arriving from a yellow-fever-infected country in Africa or the Americas a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.
  • Citizens of most countries require a visa. A list of countries that don't need a visa is available.
  • Visas are best obtained in advance through an official online visa-application portal (https://visas.immigration.go.ug/), but they can also be obtained through your local Tanzania Embassy or High Commission.
  • Visas can also be obtained on arrival but this is a lengthy process that can take one to two hours.
  • Tourist visas are available for Uganda only, or East Africa (which covers entry to Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda) for the same cost.
