- Day Day 3 - Ngorongoro Crater → Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast at Serengeti Serena Lodge, you’ll begin your journey toward the legendary Ngorongoro Crater — one of Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders. As you drive through the highlands, enjoy the changing landscapes, from open savannahs to lush volcanic slopes.
Upon arrival at the crater rim, pause at a scenic viewpoint to take in breathtaking panoramic views of the caldera. Then, descend into the crater for a game drive across the compact yet wildlife-rich floor. Here, you have a chance to see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, hippos, and even the rare black rhino, all set against dramatic crater walls.
Around midday, enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater at a designated spot such as Hippo Pool. After lunch, continue a short game drive before beginning your ascent from the crater floor, capturing last glimpses of wildlife and the magnificent scenery.
Finally, drive back to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at either your hotel or Arusha Airport, depending on your travel arrangements. Reflect on the incredible experiences of the past three days and the unforgettable sights and wildlife encounters of Northern Tanzania.
