Major National Parks in Uganda.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park found in South-Western Uganda in three districts Kanungu, Kabale, and Kisoro and was gazetted as a National Park in 1991 and declared a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in 1994. This Gorilla sophisticated jungle covers approximately 327 km² on the edge of the western Great Rift Valley along with the Democratic Republic of Congo border next to the Virunga National Park and on the edge of the western Great Rift Valley. Bwindi Forest National Park is home to over half of the world’s 1043 mountain gorillas and Mubare gorilla group was the first to become available for tourism in Uganda in April 1993. The Bwindi National Park is the most favorite destination to travelers looking to do gorilla trekking in Uganda with 22 gorilla families which habituated for gorilla trekking.
Kibale Forest National Park
The epic panorama of Kibale Forest was gazetted as a forest reserve in 1932 and was formally established as Kibale National park in 1993. The Kibale-Fort Portal area is one of Uganda’s most rewarding destinations to explore in Uganda which lies close to the tranquil Ndali-Kasenda crater area.
Kibale Forest National Park is located western Uganda Kabarole and Kamwenge district which covers an area of about 795 sq km extending southwards from Fort Portal district. The Park harbors the biggest number of chimpanzees in East Africa over 5000 Chimpanzees.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park is the icon activity within the Park. On your chimpanzee trekking experience, you will be able to meet other primates other than the chimpanzees such as the black & white Colobus, red-tailed monkey or the grey-cheeked mangabey and some other mammals include the forest elephants, duikers or buffaloes on your lucky day.
Kidepo Valley National Park
The essence of Africa rolled into one Wildlife Park? Kidepo Valley National Park is the most isolated National Park located in the north-eastern corner of Karamojong Province in Uganda. Kidepo Valley is Uganda’s most remote National Park which sits on an area of 1,442 square kilometres but still stands out to be one of the best virgin places every wildlife viewer can ever visit in Uganda and this was gazetted in 1962, soon after Uganda got her independence. Kidepo Valley National Park offers unique beautiful scenery which can’t find in any other National Park within East Africa and is one of the most untouchable gold which is called beautiful dramatic landscape.
Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is the ultimate safari destination in Uganda, the third smallest National Park with approximately 370km² and is the closest of all Parks from Kampala the capital city, about a 4-hour drive in to Kiruhura District with about 230 kilometers and it was first gazetted in 1933 as a controlled hunting ground and later upgraded to a game reserve in 1963. The lake also lies within the rain shadow area that is between Lake Victoria and the Rwenzori Mountains.
Game viewing is the best way to fully explore Lake Mburo National Park. The game drives here are brilliant, and you’ll more than likely see everything from impala and zebra, and is the only Park in Uganda hosts the impalas. Game driving in Lake Mburo National Park takes you in different paths with a game ranger. The night game drive with a ranger guide provides the chance to see nocturnal animals such as bush-baby, Pottos, and leopard.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Uganda’s most remote Gorilla Park is the smallest National Park on an area of 33.7km2 and was gazetted in 1991 and it was mainly established to protect and conserve the endangered mountain gorillas. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in the southwestern corner of Uganda bordering Rwanda in the south and Democratic Republic of Congo in the West. Mgahinga National Park is well known for the mountain gorilla and golden monkey as the strongest pillars that rise out the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The Park covers the northern slopes of the three northernmost Virunga Volcanoes: Mt. Muhavura, Mt. Gahinga, and Mt. Sabinyo. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park consists of the partly forested slopes of three extinct volcanoes. From far away, the huge cones of the Virunga volcanoes dominate the landscape and beckon you as you approach.
Mount Elgon National Park
Stretching to the horizon; the big skies… they all remind you just how vast this country is. Mount Elgon National Park is located in eastern Part of Uganda in Kapchorwa district bordering Uganda and Kenya which lies on an area of about 1250 km making it the largest surface area of an extinct volcano in the world, and a caldera that covers a total land expanse of 1145 sq. km with a height of 4321 meters above the sea level making it the fourth highest mountain in Eastern Africa, with the second-highest peak in Uganda (Wagagai Peak – 4321m). The Uganda side of the park was gazetted earlier in 1992 than the Kenya part which was gazette in 1968. Stretching to the horizon; the big skies… they all remind you just how vast this country is. Mountain Rwenzori National Park
Renowned for hiking expeditions in Uganda. Rwenzori Mountains National Park is a snowcap mountain that located in western Uganda along the Uganda-Congo border lies in in the four districts of Kasese, Kabarole, Ntoroko, and Bundibugyo. Rwenzori Mountains National Park also known as a mountain of the moon was gazetted in 1991 to protect and conserve the park, and was recognized as a World Heritage site in 1994 and Ramsar site in 2008 with its water catchments value, unique natural and scenic beauty, and its fragile mountain ecosystem which supports threatened, endemic, and rare species of fauna and flora for the benefit of the local and international community now and in the future. The park holds a third passion as highest rising up more than 16,700 feet above sea level in Africa as Margherita Peak.
Murchison Falls National Park
This is a wonderful and undisturbed game park along the Western tourism circuit giving a premier experience to wildlife lovers. Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest National Park, and its sites on an area of about 3,840km2 that combined with the contiguous Karuma and Bugungu wildlife reserves that straddle the Ugandan districts of Bulisa, Nwoya, Kiryandongo, and Masindi in North West of Uganda. Murchison Falls National Park was first gazetted as a game reserve in 1926 and later in July 1952 was gazetted the oldest conservation area, hosting 76 species of mammals and 451 birds.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Breathtaking views across the Kasenyi plains. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most famous game park and traveler’s destination situated in the western part of Uganda in Kasese district close to mountain Rwenzori. Queen Elizabeth National Park was gazetted in 1952 and the park was initially known as 'Kazinga National Park' before it was renamed in 1954, to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. Queen Elizabeth National Park sites on 1,978 km² extending from Lake George in the north-east to Lake Edward in the south-west and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes.
Semuliki Valley National Park
Spend hours exploring Semuliki Valley National Park located in southwestern Uganda in Bwamba Sub County in Bundibugyo district and was established officially in 1993 making it the newest National Park among the 10 National Parks in Uganda. Semuliki National Park covers an area of 220km ² with an altitude of 670-760m above sea level in the Albertine rift in the western arm of rift valley which cuts across Semliki valley, western of Mountain Rwenzori and it is largely occupied by the Ituri forest that extends from the Eastern parts of Congo following the Congo Basin.
Among other places including those outside national parks including special towns and cities, like Kampala, Entebbe , Jinja, Mbale, Fort Portal, Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale to mention but a few.
Major National Parks in Rwanda.
Akagera National Park
Akagera National Park is a famous Savannah reserve that lies in the eastern part of Rwanda along the border with Tanzania. The Park was gazetted in 1934 as National Park, it’s where it derives its name from the river that runs along its eastern boundary at a relatively low altitude on the border with Tanzania. Akagera National Park covers an area of 1,122 sq km which is relatively warm and low-lying, and plains support a cover of dense, broad-leafed woodland with lighter acacia woodland and patches of rolling grassland studded eloquently withstands of the superficially cactus-like Euphorbia candelabra shrub which is quite a remarkable eco-system.
Nyungwe Forest National Park
Nyungwe forest is the most biodiversity National Park in Rwanda nestled in the southwestern part of Rwanda bordering Congo approximately 225km from Kigali. The park was gazetted in 2004 after the government of Rwanda recognized the need to boost the energy of tourism and its sites on an area of about 975 km² of rainforest and is known as the main source of water catchment in Rwanda which harbors many natural resources which are quite important to Rwandan people.
Chimpanzee tracking a premier and popular activity in Nyungwe that expose you to over 13 primate species, with a lead of guide who takes you through the park’s forests where the chimps are moving constantly around at high speeds, jumping from tree to tree making noise which is most likely to be seen early in the morning and in the evening. The habituated chimpanzee group in Nyungwe forest is also bigger with about 60 individuals and due to the greatness of the forest and terrain, it gives few chances of seeing the chimps.
Volcanoes National Park
Spectacular. It’s a word that describes so many aspects of Volcanoes National Park, gazetted in 1925 surrounded by Mikeno, Karisimbi, and Visoke volcanic peaks as a mountain gorilla’s natural sanctuary. This park is mostly known after the famous primatologist Doctor Dian Fossey who arrived in this park in 1967 setting up Karisoke Research Centre between Visoke and Karisimbi. It is home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga, and Sabyinyo), and spans 160 km2 covered in rainforest and bamboo in the northern part of Ruanda in Rwanda.
Visit Volcanoes National Park the last place on earth where you can meet the rare giants know as mountain gorillas, and it also offers you the most memorable moment of experience in your life.
Gorilla trekking in Rwanda-Volcanoes National Park is the major pulling tourist activity with over 486 endangered mountain gorillas with about 12 gorilla families which habituated for gorilla trekking in every day, and each gorilla family is visited by a maximum of 8 per day and each is required to have a gorilla permit which cost $ 1500 per person per trek and we advise to book your gorilla permit well in advance.
Among other places including those outside national parks including special towns and cities, like Lake Kivu, Kibuye, Kigali, Musanze, Rwamagana, Kayonza to mention but a few.

-Organize travels from beginning to end, through booking tickets and accommodation, securing rental transportation etc.
-Supply travelers with pertinent information and useful travel/holiday material (guides, maps, event programs etc.)
-Overall supervision role as a managing director as required by the company.
GUMISIRIZA VICENT
Vincent was born in Uganda and raised in Insigiro district, where he grew up from and went to school Self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks, and take effort to address all matters concerning my job for my carrier advancement and organizational progress.

-Populate the safari departure sheet with tour programs and respective safari days
-Contact safari lodges and hotels for room rates and activity rates for use in safari quotation for a given period
LUTEMBE MICHEAL KIZITO
Born and raised in Uganda, around Kampala the central business district. Michael’s background in guiding as seen him through to the top of heading fellow guides. He has learn more about handling international travelers, but safari guiding has always been his passion.

-Research and file relevant information prior to any safari departure.
-Ensures attention to detail is all full filled before safari starts and the allocation of a proper guide is done in advance.

Our conservation, impact, sustainability and community development commitments remain unchanged – commitments that come at a huge cost to us.
We are involved in the promotion of communities for ecotourism using indigenous knowledge, skills and basic resources especially around tourism attractions.
These community based activities that directly benefit the locals also serve to conserve natural resources and include:
-Cultural experience through visiting homesteads, participating in local food preparation (from lighting a fire until food is completely prepared) and learning about the traditional musical instruments. This is an amazing and very adventurous experience, as you will see how the locals live in their villages and homes.
-Bee keeping experience project, which is very important for income generating to the community and useful to the lives such as healing a huge number of local diseases. During this walk you will get to know how honey is produced from the making of hive until harvesting fresh honey, you also get a chance to harvest honey while in full bee keeping gear.

****Important Information****
SASO UGANDA SAFARIS Ltd - Booking Terms and Policies.
The contract specified in 1 (b) below (“The Contract”) for any of the tours/safaris described in this herein is between all persons named on the Booking Form (“You”) and SASO UGANDA SAFARIS Ltd (‘The Company’ and “we” and “our” and “us”), and is made subject to the conditions below. By booking your trip with us you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions which governs our operational responsibilities, cancellation policy, and limitations of liability. Please read carefully these terms and conditions before securing your holiday with us.
1. Securing Your Safari Booking
(a) To secure your booking you will be required to complete, sign and send back the SASO UGANDA SAFARIS Booking Form shared with you by our journey expert or consultant.
Note: Upon filling in the booking form, you are required to make a 30% deposit of your total safari cost and full payment for trekking permit fees if trekking gorillas, golden monkeys and chimpanzees.
Trekking permit fees are non-refundable once permits are secured and entry permits fees for relevant parks and activity can only be secured upon receiving full payment of trekking permit fees.
All bookings confirmed within 30 days to departure, 100%full payment is required and must be remitted upon confirmation to facilitate advance preparation.
(b) We “SASO UGANDA SAFARISLTD” shall accept your booking and shall come into effect upon confirmation of receipt of a confirmation from your tour consultant.
2. Your financial guarantee & protection
SASO UGANDA SAFARIS Ltd is a member of AUTO (Association of Uganda Tour Operators) with financial strength to secure your safari in uncertainties. We guarantee safety of your deposit and refund in case of cancellations according to our cancellation guidelines.
3. Amendments and Cancellation of your safari booking with us.
(a) Amendments by You, our team is so flexible to make every effort to assist you
You reserve rights to alter/amend your safari bookings previously confirmed within 56-30 days before departure. The request to alter/amend bookings must be received in writing. SASO UGANDA SAFARIS Ltd shall confirm changes and revert in writing within 24 hours. All amendments should be reconfirmed by both parties.
(b) Rescheduling of bookings
You may reschedule you safari/tour by choosing new dates of travel and this should not be later than 45 days prior to departure. Should your new contain acquisition of new trekking permits already confirmed/secured, you will be required to meet cost of new permits and any other addition cost that may be required or imposed by a supplier providing in full or parts of the arrangements cancelled.
(c) Cancellation of bookings
Pre-payments and where applicable relevant trekking permit fees for gorilla, golden monkey, canopy walk and chimpanzees.

(d) If you cancel a booking 56 days or more prior to departure and that cancellation is not a result of non-payment or other breach of these Terms, the monies You have paid as Deposit for the booking will be refunded less trekking permits if secured.
Note: Proof of secured permits must be availed by the company if permit fees are held back as a confirmation that your permits were processed.
(e) Amendments or Cancellation by SASO UGANDA SAFARIS Ltd.
(i) If you do not pay the balance of the holiday price by eight weeks (21 days) before departure date, the Company reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled, and to envy cancellation charges.
(ii) Every effort will be made to operate all holidays as contracted.
However, we do plan the arrangements many months in advance and occasionally we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. In the event of any cancellation, the Company will use its best endeavors to offer alternative arrangements of a comparable standard or to make a full and prompt refund for all monies paid by you.
(iii) The Company will not normally cancel any holiday within 21 days of departure, except in circumstances outside the Company’s control in the event of war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activities (threatened or actual), natural and nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions, or other circumstances amounting to force majeure. The Company will then use its best endeavors to offer you an alternative holiday of comparable standard or make full and prompt refund of all monies paid to it by you.
(iv) In the rare event of cancellation becoming necessary within 21 days’ weeks of departure date for reasons other than the force majeure circumstances described in the preceding paragraph, then the Company will offer, whenever possible, comparable arrangements or a full refund of all monies received by the Company from you
(v) The Company reserves the right to alter routes, schedules, itineraries, amenities and mode of transport, without prior notice, during the period of the holiday, due to circumstances or events which affect the stated intentions of the holiday. These influences may include, but are not limited to, sickness, mechanical breakdown, events emanating from political disputes, acts of terrorism (threatened or actual), entry of border difficulties, adverse weather conditions, earthquakes, and other unpredictable or unforeseeable circumstances.
3. Arbitration, Law and Jurisdiction
Any matters arising from this Contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Uganda law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Uganda. Should you have a complaint about any aspect of the Company’s arrangements about your holiday, the complaint should be reported immediately in writing to allow the Company be given the opportunity to investigate and rectify the matter during your or post-holiday. If your complaint is not resolved during your holiday, please follow this up on email through your journey experts before 15 days post your safari with us.
8. Data Protection Policy
In order to process your booking and to ensure your travel arrangements run seamless and meet your requirements. The company requires to use the information you provide such as your full name, passport numbers, address, any special needs/dietary requirements etc. We take full responsibility for ensuring that proper security measures are in place to protect your information. We must pass on the information to the various relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements such as hotels, transport companies, Uganda Wildlife Authority, Rwanda Development Board, etc. The information may also be provided to security or credit card companies, public authorities such as customs/immigration if required by them, or as required by law. Additionally, we will not however, pass any information to any person not responsible for any part of your travel arrangements. If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, it becomes impossible to provide your holiday.
