- Maputo Elephant Reserve - located about 2 hours from Ponta do Ouro, this reserve is home to a variety of wildlife including elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.
- Tembe Elephant Park - located across the border in South Africa, this park is home to one of the largest elephant populations in Africa, as well as other wildlife such as lions, rhinos, and buffalo.
