Overview – Maputo Special Reserve

Maputo Special Reserve combines lakes, wetlands, swamp timberlands, grasslands and mangrove backwoods with a coastline that exists in the Maputaland Center of Endemism. Wildlife & Animals – Maputo Special Reserve

Elephants are the main affirmed inhabitants of the Big Five. The most widely recognized antelope is the reedbuck, which prefers the open prairie environment. Nyala and duiker are very normal also. Other creatures to pay special attention to are greater kudu, waterbuck, bushbuck, impala and steenbok. Maputo Special Reserve is certifiably not an excellent wildlife destination. Besides wildlife viewing, the reserve is visited for its seashores, 4x4 tracks, fishing, snorkelling and boating. July to November is an ideal opportunity to see humpback whales during their yearly migration. December to late March is the point at which the turtles are laying their eggs on the seashores.
